Geology and Archeology of Russel Cave National Monument - Russell Cave National Monument is home to around 10,000 years of habitation by Pre-historic people. Russell Cave is unique to have all five periods of southeastern prehistoric people to have inhabited the cave shelter; Paleo-People, Archaic People, Woodland and Mississippian People. Russell Cave has an extensive archeological record that reveals detailed information about the way of life of the Pre-historic people who called Russell Cave home.
